Barn House Market in Battle Ground

DSC4986.jpg

The Barn House Boys - Joe and Jermonne - host one of the premiere "vintage" markets in the country once each summer, in the "back yard" of their enchanting farm house in rural Battle Ground, Washington. People come from all over to see, buy, eat, drink, listen, play - and to be seen.  It's quite simply THE place to be... More photos are also shown on the Battle Ground page...

Market

The market, spread out across several acres of  property, included over 30 incredible "vintage" vendors plus food, drinks and a live band.  It was like a county fair but more intimate and special.  Just about everything here was one of a kind.  People lined up to get in so the first hour was a bit of a crush …  All day long you could see people happily hauling their treasures - big and small - back to their cars.

Seabold Vintage Market had their usual array of wonderful vintage collectibles as well as the lovely Bainbridge Blues fabric collection from Bainbridge Island by way of Italy (Bainbridge Blues)...

Music

People soaked up the hot sun and the idyllic country setting while enjoying local beers and this indie-folk band, Celilo. They'll be up at Connor Byrne in Seattle later in August!

Animals

"Shug Avery", "Harpo", "Big Daddy" and all the other farm animals milled around their smaller pen, temporarily displaced from their usual roomy pasture.  They were a big hit with the kids who fed them fistfuls of grass.

Feet

These belong to the charming Kimberly Taylor who loves people, animals, good food, farm-life and everything vintage.  We are "birds of a feather" because we both use - and love - our Nikon D700's.  Don't miss her site!

Vendor Village

It is easy to forget that these markets are put on by an amazingly talented, resourceful and close-knit group of "shop" people.  (Some travel in trucks and vans from as far away as California!)  They work hard to put on these shows and spend days getting ready.  This stylish trailer belongs to The Fancy Farm Girl.  Be sure to check out her photos!

Families...

...there was something for everyone  - even the smallest members of the group.

...even at the exit...
